Happy New Year!

2012 is here, thank you for supporting through 2011!

A new year, a clean slate, and a world of opportunities!

That's how I like to think about 2012. 2011 was majorly busy for me, and to sum it up, here are some of my accomplishments:

- Finished up touring with our show Vilt&Vakkert
- Performed in Snåsa church at the 10 yrs. anniversary for Marthe and Joralf's Help-fund
- Released a DVD of Vilt&Vakkert
- Initiated, organized and performed at Gift to Japan

Gift to Japan was a concert gift from Norwegian artists with a connection to Japan, and it was a token to support the Japanese people in their distress after the horrible tsunami that hit their coast on March 11th, 2011. In only 10 days, we managed to assemble a live concert in Folketeateret in Oslo, with artists from all over Norway, including video greetings from those who could not be there in person. The concert was broadcast live on the Internet via VG TV, and a full on TV production was made and broadcast on national channel TV2 on the following Saturday. A song, "The Earth is Trembling", was written for the purpose, and was downloaded all of 18.000 times upon the release date. We created a website
(www.gifttojapan.com), a Facebook page and a Twitter account for Gift to Japan, and my co-worker Margrethe Wam Solvang from WAM Management and I received the President's plaque from the Red Cross for our efforts, a very honorable and rare recognition to get.
Gift to Japan was never meant to be a fund raiser as, at the time of initiating this concert, the Japanese had not requested any financial support. However, only a few days into planning the Gift to Japan-concert, the Red Cross did recieve an appeal from Japan for finiancial support. At this point, it was important to get as many supporters as possible for the concert in order to contribute financially as well as musically. On such short notice, it was not possible to create the financial success we could have wished for. Still, I am proud to say that in the aftermath of my Gift to Japan-project, several local choirs and bands did organize their own "Gift to Japan"-concerts all over Norway, and thus were able to raise considerable funds to aid the Japanese.

- Received 27 healthy puppies in our own kennel
- Wrote for-, organized and recorded my first Christmas album, Julegaven
- Participated in upcoming TV show "71 degrees north"
- Organized and booked my first Christmas church tour
- Established a very rewarding cooperation with the Soul Children network
- Guest starred with
the gospel choir JOY
- Guest starred with Gospelkoret HIM
- Did an immense amount of press for all of the above events!

Finally, I got to celebrate a wonderful family-Christmas with Lars, my mom, my sister and the rest of my family.

Plans for 2012 are coming up, but first - the mushing season! I will be handling for Team Komplett Fritid, and my boyfriend Lars Monsen is our driver for all the major sleddog races this year. I'm really looking forward to this season as I know it will be a chain of profound experiences. I'll try to keep you posted as much as I can, but until then:

I wish you all a happy new year, and make sure to follow your dreams!
