Here's my new single, "Not for Long", from my upcoming album "Seeds of Joy" (to be released on Sept. 20. in Norway, and a little bit later world wide).

"Not for Long" is a song written by my producers in Whiteroom studio in Norway, and I wrote the lyrics. It is one of the first tracks we made for my new album, and it is originally written for one singer (myself!). However, when we pulled wonderful singer, Paal Flaata, into the studio to lay some harmonies in the chorus, Paal liked the song so much that he wanted to sing the second verse as well. With nothing to lose, he was humored on his idea - and the result is - a duet! I had no thought for this song to work as a duet when I wrote the lyrics, but with Paal Flaata's magic touch, there was no way back. In fact, I think he even added some depth to the lyrics by singing the second verse.

"I'm so happy to get a spot in this tv show, as it is one of the most popular tv-shows here in Norway through the summer," Trine says. "Yesterday I was there to rehearse with the band, and the surroundings are fantastic! Outdoors, in an old fortress, in sunny weather and with lots of people - it doesn't get much better than that!"

Impressed by the significantly high level of musical understanding, Trine Rein is excited to see what will become of these students in few years from now! Trine had the pleasure of visiting Rønningen Folkehøgskole in Oslo on Feb. 12th to give her speech to a small group of students as well as getting a chance to perform together with the school choir and band. After telling her story, and sharing her vast experience of almost twenty years in the worlds' music business, Trine took some time to answer questions from the students before rehearsing for the evening concert in the school auditorium.
"No doubt, there is a lot of talent among these kids, and their ability to give such a professional performance at this stage is very impressive!" Trine commented after the concert. She also pointed out the degree of tolerance, eagerness and love among the students, and their ability to lift each other to the stars on a regular band night at the school's facilities. This is a wonderful way to begin their journey into the sometimes winding roads of the entertainment business, Trine Rein says.

This has been a fun project to be a part of, and I will always cherish the time I got to travel around on tour with the wonderful choir KOR-90 and their band led by keyboard player Dag Stokke. Not to mention the two other featured artists, Gaute Ormaasen and Nora Foss Al-Jabri with their incredible voices and charisma, who professionally added their colors and interpretations to new and old Christmas carols in wonderful ways!
