Finally back to live - I'm going on TOUR again!🤩🎶

Finally, finally, FINALLY!🙏🏼🥳 My much anticipated tour “Femti, Feit & Bitter” (‘Fifty, Fat & Bitter’) has been postponed so many times I’ve lost count, and now it’s finally materializing!

Finally, finally, FINALLY!🙏🏼🥳 My much anticipated tour “Femti, Feit & Bitter” (‘Fifty, Fat & Bitter’) has been postponed so many times I’ve lost count, and now it’s finally materializing! In the process, I have had to make a few adjustments to the original concert show, and the title is even a bit changed. Now the entire title is:

’Femti’ish, Feit & (enda mer) Bitter!’ (‘Fifty’ish, Fat & (even more) Bitter!’)

Why? Well - originally, this was a celebration of me turning 50 years old. Now, I’m pushing 52, which makes me ‘fifty-something…’.

I have also established a brand new band to take on the road, and these cats are definitely worth a listen!😎🤘🏼

We start out on Sept. 9 at Scandic City Scene in Fredrikstad, and are set up for ten concert shows around Norway. I’m really excited to see you guys out there - thank you for your patience! I’m bringing lots of known and new music from my entire career, good stories from the music business, and I promise you a bag of varied show candy to lift you into high spirits - you’re in for a great night!😃🎶

Band/Crew:
Trine Rein - Lead vocals
Håvar Bendiksen - guitars/BGVs
Torjus Eggen - bass/BGVs
Alf Magne Hillestad - drums

'ALIVE' is out now!

Happy release day! I’m happy as can be to announce my brand new album, ‘Alive’ being available now!

Happy release day!🥳🎉 I’m happy as can be to announce my brand new album, ‘Alive’ being available now!🤩 It’s been such a long process getting to this point, I’ve been about to explode with the news.

Alive was created during my Nashville Sessions starting back in 2019 when I first met my wonderful producer and songwriter, David Thulin, and his partner-in-crime, Rhyan Shirley - professional lyricist. We hit it off right off the bat, and have been collaborating since - throughout the pandemic. Most of the tracks were written and produced in Nashville, whereas some of them were actually created over the internet during lockdown.

I give you twelve new songs, two of which were released as singles in 2019, and the rest of the album are Nashville tracks. For most of these songs, I have created lyric videos or music videos, so be sure to check out my YouTube channel - and don’t forget to subscribe😉 (thank you🙏🏼)

I really hope you will enjoy ‘Alive’ as much as I enjoyed creating it. If you add it to your playlists, I am grateful, and if you click like on the songs, I will be thrilled! Thank you for supporting and inspiring me to continue performing and creating music!❤️

Much love,
Trine🥰🎶

Everything will Be OK🌈❤️🙏🏼

I’m sure you’ve seen the children’s many touching drawings of colorful rainbows with these positive words: “Everything will be ok”. During the pandemic, I kept seeing these pictures everywhere, in classrooms, on the streets, in stores, in kindergarten - everywhere!

I couldn’t help be being inspired by this positive message so filled with hope and belief for the future coming from our next generations. So I contacted my favorite team in Nashville, writer and producer David Thulin and lyricist Rhyan Shirley to see if we could come up with something on this theme. Introducing: Be OK!

Be OK single cover

Due to the pandemic still ruling our lives at the time, I was unable to actually go to Nashville for this one, and thus ‘Be OK’ was written via the Internet. As a greeting to all my followers from back in 2015 when I covered Florence and the Machine’s song ‘Spectrum’ on national TV show ‘Stjernekamp’ (The Ultimate Entertainer), I let myself be carried away by inspiration from the EDM genre. I’m not much of a dancer myself, but I hope this will inspire you to put on your dancing shoes.

On Friday, March 25 at 11:00am (GMT+1) I am also releasing my new lyric video to go along with the song, and you will be able to sing along with me - AND Sauda Soul Children who are helping me lift this song to the next level.

Here’s a link if you wanna catch the premiere on YouTube: Be OK

Although it may seem a little light to release a single called ‘Be OK’ in the midst of the world just coming out of a pandemic, facing an unfathomable war in Eastern Europe, and a seriously alarming climate report from the UN all at the same time, I believe a little light and hope is exactly what we need right now. Remember, we are allowed to sing, dance, smile, laugh and be free even just for a few minutes. No one will benefit from everyone going down mentally or physically due to the scenario we are facing these days.

I hope you will enjoy ‘Be OK’, and that it will be a ray of light in otherwise quite dark times here on earth🙏🏼

With love,

Trine❤️

'Femti'ish, Feit & (enda mer) Bitter' postponed...

My loooong anticipated concert show, ‘Femti’ish, Feit & (enda mer) Bitter’ ((‘Fifty’ish, Fat & (even more) Bitter’)) has been postponed due to the Covid-19 restrictions. New dates are available for September/October this year.

My loooong anticipated concert show, ‘Femti’ish, Feit & (enda mer) Bitter’ ((‘Fifty’ish, Fat & (even more) Bitter’)) has been postponed due to the Covid-19 restrictions. New dates are available for September/October this year.

‘Femti’ish, Feit, & (enda mer) Bitter’ postponed

What was originally going to be an anniversary concert show celebrating my 50’th birthday and 5 year wedding anniversary at the same time has been pushed back so many times I had to change the title to make it happen. So, now that I’m beyond fifty, have gained even a few more pounds, and struggled my way through a pandemic in the entertainment business, the material for this show is ever increasing! I promise you a night with laughs, great new music as well as known songs, and an honest look at an artist life pushing 60!

My incredible booking agent, Reidun Berntsen at Rocksport Booking, miraculously managed to move my entire tourplan in a matter of hours from March to September/October this year. Many have questioned the timing for moving this tour just as society seems to be opening up again, and the restrictions are lifted. The answer is basically that we would have no time to sell out the tickets by early March as we have been holding back on the marketing budget worried that a scenario just like this could happen. And here we are…

Since 2020, I have been releasing new singles regularly building up to my much anticipated album. The album release has been pushed back time and time again along with my touring plans, but fret not. We are now planning for an album release in early June in order for you to get to know some of the new songs before we see each other live again. Good plan? More to come…!😉

I’m looking forward to seeing you all out there again. It has been such a nightmare to see all my plans, my investments, my hard work as well as my team’s hard work being put aside time after time to keep the pandemic in check. Now, we really need you to show up for our live concerts and other entertainment offers out there, and if you already had tickets for my shows in March/April, these are valid for the new dates as well. If for some reason you are unavailable for the new dates, your tickets are refundable for another week or so. Please contact your ticket provider for more info on refunds.

Here is the overview of the new tour dates - I wish you a warm welcome:

‘Femti’ish, Feit & (enda mer) Bitter’

With Love,
Trine 😊❤️🎶

JULEGAVEN is cancelled...😢

I’m so saddened to announce that as of Wednesday last week, my long anticipated annual Christmas tour, JULEGAVEN, had to be cancelled due to new restrictions and the increase of covid-19 cases in Norway. We managed to perform 24 of the planned 35 concerts, and fortunately, I got to meet all of the 9 different local choirs in at least one concert before we had to shut down.

It’s such a bummer knowing all the work, all the preparations and all the investments gone into this tour - not to mention all the anticipation - all being blown out the window at the snap of two fingers. A pandemic is no joke… Right now, I am grateful to be living in a welfare state where there is financial aid to people in my situation. It’s not ideal, but it helps us to keep our head above water - if only barely. I have received two shots of vaccines, expecting to receive a third booster shot in not too long to protect me from serious illness. We are certainly blessed in this country, and I am also glad to know Norway is one of the foremost countries in the world aiding third world countries in getting access to the vaccines.

Ås church

Julegaven 2021 with Trine Rein, Adrian Jørgensen and Siri’us.

I must admit it is increasingly difficult to find the motivation to build yet another tour, yet another concert, or yet another show in the midst of all the cancellations we’ve seen during the past almost two years of this pandemic. I used to have an inner drive, a dream about standing on a stage, singing for a huge audience with a back up band behind me. That dream, that picture, has faded noticeably lately, and the only thing keeping me going is my amazing audience cheering me on via my SoMe-platforms. Also, my much appreciated colleagues in the music- and entertainment business are “too-good-to-go”, so in one way or another, I am sure I will find a way to hang on for a while longer. Still - making a living from gathering people to concerts has proven to be impossible during the last almost two years, and I am seriously considering other means of making a living these days. Sad, but true.

Julegaven band and crew. From left: Adrian Jørgensen, Olav Torgeir Kopsland, Kenneth Bjørdal, Alexander Pettersen. From right: Bodvar Tornes, Ole-Martin Nestvold (MAF Norway),all Trine Rein, Hanne Hodne (MAF Norway)

Anyway, I don’t mean to get all dark right before Christmas, but these dark times are definitely taking a toll. On the upside, we are only days away from “the sun turning” as we say up here in the northern hemisphere, meaning the days will begin to grow longer and lighter. Coming out of the dark season is always uplifting, and interestingly enough, it happens almost simultaneously with the celebration of the birth of Christ (the Light) - every year. So, as I preach during my Julegaven Christmas concerts, everything will be OK in the end.

Enclosed is my favorite quote from the Bible to remind me of this:

Joshua 1, 9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Wishing you all a healthy, happy and very merry Christmas!🎊💫🎄🌟🎶❤️

With love,
Trine❤️😊

I’m so happy to announce the release of my new, Norwegian Christmas single, ‘Nå er det jul igjen’ - a beautiful duet with Adrian Jørgensen as guest singer!

This song really captures the spirit of Christmas, and how it may look from the outside by someone who does not have anyone to spend the Holidays together with. ‘Nå er det jul igjen’ is written by Trine Rein, David Thulin and Jeanette Thulin Claesson in Nashville. This is the final song written during my ‘Nashville sessions’ in the year of the pandemic, and it is produced by David Thulin in Nashville. The vocals were recorded by Christian Ingebrigtsen in Norway.

My mother is a HEROINE🏆❤️

For my mother’s upcoming birthday, I’m releasing a tribute single for her accomplishments as a single, hard working mother.

…and for my mother’s upcoming birthday, I’m releasing a tribute single for her accomplishments as a single, hard working mother. ‘Heroine’ is a song written to my mom, and it also embraces all the single mothers of the world honoring them for their accomplishments in raising and caring for their children.

No one knows all the challenges a single mother must endure, and she keeps her tears to herself to protect her children. With this up tempo pop song inspired by the latin grooves I know my mother likes so much, I want to give something back to the heroine that raised me and my sister, Kaja.

The song is written by David Thulin, Rhyan Shirley and myself, and it is produced by David Thulin. This is the final last song recorded from my ‘Nashville Sessions 2020’, and yet, there is more to come😉

Release date May 7 2021 - please click here to listen to ‘HEROINE’

Please enjoy ‘Heroine’!

Prove Myself - new single!

What do you have to prove when you’re half the way to 100? I think not much! ‘Prove Myself’ is out now, and this song became somewhat a milestone for me.

What do you have to prove when you’re half the way to 100? I think not much! ‘Prove Myself’ is out now, and this song became somewhat a milestone for me. After years and years of struggling to keep up, always trying to get ahead, positioning myself as an artist in the music business, and trying to accomplish goals that are set higher and higher each year, I finally came to peace with this: I am good enough. We all are.

This is a mid-tempo heartfelt pop song to encourage you to be happy where you are, and with who you are. I think the message is as much a message to myself as it is to all of you out there.

‘Prove Myself’ is written by David Thulin, Rhyan Shirley and me, and it is produced by David Thulin during the ‘Nashville Sessions’ from march 2020. Imagine - it has been a full year since the world was turned upside down in a pandemic. And things are still not back to normal. I hope you will enjoy this little piece of encouragement, and feel free to add it to your favorite playlist. Put on your Superman or Superwoman cape, and face the world with confidence - you are wonderful!😃

The cover is me trying to look like a fighter, and the drawing of the fighter hands is my own artwork. I took a picture of my husband, Lars Monsen’s hands, thinking his lumberjack hands would do nicely to symbolize the song. LOL!

Fighter - Trine Rein

‘Fighter’ is a mid tempo pop song with elements of funk, soul and even some R&B - just my kind of music! I’ve been inspired by so many great singers through the years, and I think a lot of that inspiration accumulates in ‘Fighter’. This song should give you a kick start on the new year as we shrug our shoulders to get rid of the past. What a yucky year 2020 was….! Here’s to a clean slate, I hope you really enjoy ‘Fighter’!

Happy New Year - welcome 2021!!!🎊💫✨

Leaving 2020 brings mixed feelings to my heart…

Leaving 2020 brings mixed feelings to my heart. Looking back, I had both good things and bad things happen in my life. As far as my career goes, most all of my planned concerts ended up being cancelled in light of the pandemic. I had less than ten concerts all together, and my entire Christmas tour, Julegaven (the Christmas Gift) of 35 concerts with local choirs in every church and a mystery guest artist, was cancelled. Instead, I had the opportunity to travel around with a “Lars Monsen Pop up store” visiting many places around Norway, selling the hiking clothes and wilderness gear designed by my husband, Lars. Yes, it was definitely a different year…

Parallell to these sales trips, I was also able to release a series of new singles based on my exciting trip to Nashville and my ‘Nashville sessions’ just before everything shut down in March. I came back with all of 7 new, fully produced and ready to launch singles which I have had the pleasure of sharing with my followers throughout the year. More to come in 2021!🤩

Also, I have had the opportunity to jog my video editing skills in an attempt to create videos for all the new singles. Two of them were recorded and produced by my new helper, Mathias Fossdal, and others were created by myself entirely. You can check them out on my YouTube page where they are all posted as they are released.

Going into 2021, I’m excited about my brand new show, “Femti, Feit & Bitter” (Fifty, Fat & Bitter) with which I will be touring Norway this year. It is a fun show taking a look back on my 50(!!) year long life, as well as sharing music from my entire catalogue. Yes, I did turn 50 last year…!😱Hope to see you out there!

For the new year, I hope we can contain the terrible virus that has caused so much pain and suffering all around the world. In the first week of January, I am releasing a new single called ‘Fighter’. This song is to motivate and inspire to embrace the new year, to keep going no matter what, and to never give in to the challenges in life. If you follow my newsletter (only in Norwegian at this point - my apologies!), you will receive a pre-listen link a few days prior to the release.

I hope to see you all out there as soon as we are allowed to meet again, and I can’t wait to be able to have concerts in 2021!

I wish you all a very happy, prosperous, healthy and rewarding new year!❤️😊

Best,
Trine 😊

'Mother' music video!

It’s here - the music video for ‘Mother’ releases Friday, Sept. 4 at noon on my YouTube channel!

'Mother' refers to 'Mother Earth', and the song is one of my strongest to date. The topic is about how we treat our only Mother Earth against better knowledge, and how we egotistically are stealing our children's future.

Thumbnail Mother.jpeg

I really had to cross some of my hardest personal boundaries in creating this video, cigarette smoking being one of them. I also spent an entire day trying to create fake blood in order to make it look like I had killed my treasured dog, Joy, to use her fur in vain. That scene is my worst nightmare, and shooting it felt very uncomfortable.

My hope is that the song, the lyrics and the video will have an impact on how we think and act towards our only planet and home. I believe that if we treat each other with respect and love, including the environment, the animals and all people, the world will be a better place. Below are the lyrics. The song is written by Rhyan Shirley, David Thulin and myself, and it is produced by David Thulin. Video production by Mathias Fossdal. Please enjoy: 'Mother'🌍

Tick tock, tick tock, the clock is ticking...

…for Mother Earth.

…for Mother Earth. Most of us agree we must take serious actions right now to stop the development of climate change. Yet, we continue to live as if nothing is at stake. My new single, ‘Mother’ points to how we behave in spite of the well known and also, unknown, consequences. It is my darkest single to date written by Rhyan Shirley, David Thulin and myself in March this year.

Please enjoy my new single by clicking this link: MOTHER

Mother.jpg

Here are the lyrics:

Mother

V1:

Oh I know my mom is getting older

her knees are just too weak to hold her

and it’s my job to take care of her

But the smoke is just too sweet to kick

Mom will understand I did my best

As I light up beside her bed

Pre:

Every puff is laced with selfishness

I could but I don’t want to quit

Ch:

I swear to God that I love my mother

I swear To God That I love my mother

Once she’s gone I can’t replace her

Yeah I promise you that I love my mother

V2:

I know she needs to get some air

So I take her to the ocean where

the oil stains can soak her hair

And as the cancer starts to spread

I put plastic down to line her bed

It’s bad but who cares once she’s dead

Pre:

My convenience is priority

My excuses reign like a tyrant king

Ch:

I swear to God that I love my mother

I swear To God That I love my mother

Once she’s gone I can’t replace her

Yeah I promise you that I love my mother

Br:

I know that time is running out

And my kids will suffer from my doubt

But I’m just way too comfortable to change

 Ch:

I swear to God that I love my mother

I swear To God That I love my mother
