Tick tock, tick tock, the clock is ticking...

…for Mother Earth. Most of us agree we must take serious actions right now to stop the development of climate change. Yet, we continue to live as if nothing is at stake. My new single, ‘Mother’ points to how we behave in spite of the well known and also, unknown, consequences. It is my darkest single to date written by Rhyan Shirley, David Thulin and myself in March this year.

Here are the lyrics:

Mother

V1:

Oh I know my mom is getting older

her knees are just too weak to hold her

and it’s my job to take care of her

But the smoke is just too sweet to kick

Mom will understand I did my best

As I light up beside her bed

Pre:

Every puff is laced with selfishness

I could but I don’t want to quit

Ch:

I swear to God that I love my mother

I swear To God That I love my mother

Once she’s gone I can’t replace her

Yeah I promise you that I love my mother

V2:

I know she needs to get some air

So I take her to the ocean where

the oil stains can soak her hair

And as the cancer starts to spread

I put plastic down to line her bed

It’s bad but who cares once she’s dead

Pre:

My convenience is priority

My excuses reign like a tyrant king

Ch:

I swear to God that I love my mother

I swear To God That I love my mother

Once she’s gone I can’t replace her

Yeah I promise you that I love my mother

Br:

I know that time is running out

And my kids will suffer from my doubt

But I’m just way too comfortable to change

 Ch:

I swear to God that I love my mother

I swear To God That I love my mother

Once she’s gone I can’t replace her

Yeah I promise I still love my mother

At least I think I love my mother
